Rockefeller Gift Funds Global YMCA Expansion

John D. Rockefeller contributed 51 million dollars toward a world wide YMCA expansion with a condition that equal funding be raised from other sources. Ex Senator David B Hill of New York died suddenly at his Albany area home at 67 from heart dilation due to Brights disease. A forest fire in Montana and Idaho destroyed six billion board feet of lumber worth about 15 million dollars, burning 1 250 000 acres. Ethel Leneve was acquitted in London of accessory to the murder of Belle Ellmore. Dr Crippen, convicted, faces execution in November for the murder of his wife whose mutilated body was found in Crippen's cellar. Crippen, traveling with his mother when arrested, was pursued across Europe.

Chouteau county leaders seek division after a petition to move the county seat from Fort Benton to Havre. The plan would keep Fort Benton as Chouteau county seat, form a new Havre county with Havre as seat, and assign Chinook to a third new county.

Teton Colony Adds Members in Seattle Visit

The Misses Edna and Anna Beaupra of Sweet Grass are in Seattle for the winter. Two daughters of J. A. Johnson of Shelby accompany them, the latter attending school there. A sister of Pat ton McMurtrey is also present as a second year high school student.

Mrs Ina Horsfall of Great Falls Deaconess hospital spoke to morning and evening congregations at the Methodist church. She visited early in the week about the Van Orsdel home for nurses being built across the hospital to relieve crowding.

Reports from nearly all precincts show large registration. Chateau precinct totals reach 72 with 28 in Dutton and Valier expected to 130 to 175 votes. New ruling dates homesteaders residency from filing, increasing eligible voters beyond initial estimates. Other settled precincts likely to rise similarly.

Montana held Rhodes Scholarship examinations at the University of Montana on October 25 and 26 under President Duniway to select a Montana appointee for 1911 1912. Farmington Miss Summerville, long engaged to teach Muddy school, arrived on Saturday. Reverends Lunde and Wachsmuth from Great Falls conducted services on the Beach Sunday. Crowl Lecture Breaks Record at Modgskkiss Hall

Denton C Crowl delivered a celebrated Sam Jones lecture at Modgskkiss hall drawing a packed audience. The event showcased Crowl’s recreation of the evangelist’s thought voice and gesture with high praise for its moral impact. About 125 season tickets sold and receipts expected to cover expenses for the Industrial society lyceum series. Mrs Lovern A Pierce of Orming ton Mont died Friday Oct 21 1910 at age 71 years 6 months 2 days. The remains rest in Chateau cemetery beside her son. Born in Henrietta Ohio she moved to Wisconsin in 1853 and married H C Pierce in 1857. Seven children were born. four survive Eugene D L G and H J Pierce of Great Falls.
