October sets moisture record with heavy rainfall
Weather records reveal the first three weeks of the month produced a moisture record. A 0.77 inch rainfall occurred on Monday bringing the month total to 2.21 inches versus 0.05 inches in 1922 and no rain in 1921.

Charles O. Heximer Jules Moret Carl Smith William Mowbray Chas H Malcolm and Rose Malcolm were admitted to citizenship at the naturalization term held Saturday October 20. George W. Tyler of the Bureau of Naturalization Spokane conducted the examinations. Three applicants were continued through nonappearance.

First Annual Teton County Corn and Potato Show Set for November
The First Annual Teton County Corn and Potato Show will be held in Chateau on Saturday November 3 with close to 500 ears of corn and several potato exhibits entered. Exhibits should aim for uniform size and color with uniform rows, well matured dry corn, and cob coverage. Potatoes must have 12 tubers of about 12 ounces each, and both crops should be shipped or left with the county agent for display.

Death Claims Mrs Wilburn L Barrett
Mrs Wilburn Lockhart Barrett aged 66 died last Thursday at her home after a long residence in the area. Funeral services were held Saturday and the body sent with her husband and three children to Weeping Water Nebraska for burial. Born Elizabeth Nancy McGrath February 4 1857 in Derrida Illinois she married Wilburn Lockhart Barrett December 22 1876 at Galena Illinois. They had nine children Elmer Roy Haney Jesse Bulch Wilburn and Lloyd among others six children survive including Jesse D Wilburn D and Lloyd B.

Helena October 33 editor and publisher Daniel Whetstone of The Cut Bank Pioneer Press will become chief of the division of labor and publicity at the state department of agriculture starting November 15. He succeeds Charles D. Greenfield Jr who resigns to join Montana Life Insurance. Greenfield was federal labor director for Montana in joint state federal efforts during harvest emergencies. Whetstone has leased his newspaper and home to C G Bishop and will move his family to Helena.
