Mullaney Rites Held Today In Choteau
Requiem mass for James Edward Mullaney 74 was held at St. Josephs Church Choteau with burial in Choteau Cemetery. Mullaney died in a Great Falls hospital after residence there since Sept. 12. He married Florence Deaver in 1914 and had worked selling cars in Choteau and ran a ranch northeast of town. Survivors include his widow two daughters eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and two sisters. Funeral details provided by Zwerneman Mortuary.

Farmers resumed harvests last week after a month delay and expect to wrap up in about ten days. October outlook shows Montana warmer than normal with below normal precipitation. Quality remains fair with normal dockage and yields down 5 to 10 bushels per acre, barley hit harder than wheat. County agent Raymond Kelly notes many in central and eastern areas have finished or near completion. He warns it is unlikely wheat streak mosaic will rise due to wet cold weather, which also limits pests.
