Montana housing units offered for veterans by federal agency
A Seattle based Federal Public Housing authority document says Montana communities may obtain surplus temporary housing units for veterans. Eligible sponsoring towns can apply before November 1 and cover transport and re erection costs. Several cities already benefit, including Sidney Missoula Great Falls and Kalispell.

Phil I. Cole Laid to Rest In Monday Rites
Funeral services for Phil I. Cole were held Monday at the Choteau Methodist church with Rev. R. F. Vick officiating. Burial followed in Choteau cemetery beside Mrs. Cole. Banks Funeral Home directed the arrangements as a large crowd attended. Cole, born in 1869 in Forest Ohio, had a diverse career as educator attorney rancher and cattle dealer. He moved to Choteau in 1900 and served as county attorney of Teton County elected in 1904 and 1906.

Ed Yeager Injured Loading Sheep Near Deep Creek
Rancher Ed Yeager was hurt Tuesday afternoon at local stockyards while loading sheep. He was caught between a loading platform and a truck driven by his brother Harry Yeager and rushed to Deaconess Hospital in Great Falls with fractures to lumbar vertebrae and a ruptured right kidney. His condition was described as not exceptionally serious.

Montana Kenny polio drive funds support nurse training
Mrs. Shirley announced Montana's Kenny drive raised 23 478 with a 10 330 65 donation from the Sister Elizabeth Kenny Foundation. The state chapter will fund two year nurse training scholarships at the Kenny Institute in Minneapolis for registered or graduate nurses under 40, with tuition room and board included. World Series Play By Radio Over Mutual KGIR
Baseball fans will listen Sunday to the World Series opener between the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals. Helen J. Thompson 70 former Choteau resident died in Washington D C. Her daughter Grayce Thompson brought the body to Choteau for burial. Funeral at the Methodist church with Rev H J Engdahl. Born Minneapolis July 28 1876 she was Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Minnesota. She taught then married T J Thompson. family moved to Walier and later to Choteau in 1927. Pallbearers named.
