Power Company Assessment in Teton Reduced 80 Percent

The Montana Power Company's inter county transmission lines in Teton county were reduced to 86,282 for 1924 tax purposes from 429,637 in 1923 by the state board of equalization. The deduction reflects fewer miles of line and lower value per mile, with 49.41 miles in service in 1924 down from 61.31 in 1923. The result lowers 1924 taxes and may trigger refunds of protested 1923 taxes. similar actions are reported in nineteen other Montana counties as part of a settlement with the tax commission.
