Chamber to Seek Pavement on Farmington Conr ad Road

The Chamber plans to form a committee to urge the County Commissioners to prioritize paving the unpaved Farmington road linking to the Pendrey Conrad highway. Al Hensley outlined county and secondary road funding, with state kickbacks and federal sharing, and said the committee will press for action though funds are tight.

Territorial Integrity Legislation Urged by Sun River Electric

About 750 Sun River Electric Cooperative members at Great Falls urged Montana lawmakers to adopt territorial integrity legislation at the 1971 session. Fay Crusch warned rural cooperatives may need to borrow funds, stressing security against private power takeovers. Trustees re elected and officers named as the group serves 2,800 members across eight counties.

Wrangler Aided By Dr Johnson After Horse Accident

A. W. Tom Carter, a Carter area rancher, was kicked in the head and chest by his horse near Gibson Lake west of Augusta. Dr M A Johnson and others from the Chateau area treated him at the scene and airlifted him to a Great Falls hospital after a long night. Carter suffered four broken ribs and facial and chest injuries.

Choteau Hunters See Locked-Head Deer Battle aftermath

Ray Kelly and his son Roger found two buck deer locked in battle along the Teton River west of Choteau. One dead, the other alive but unapproachable, so the hunters killed the living deer to end the struggle. Kelly planned to save the horns still locked together.

Junior Miss To Be Chosen Sunday November 30

Preparations are underway for the 1969 Junior Miss Pageant in Teton County set for Sunday at Chateau High School. Eleven contestants attend a final rehearsal on Sunday November 23 with Jaycee and Jayceen committees coordinating dance, attire, and MC duties under Tony Jaconetty and others guiding decorations and program flow. Admission is $1 for adults and 50 cents for students.

Yearly Chamber Capers To Feature Glamorous Celebrities

The annual Chamber Capers Saturday at 8 p.m. in Chateau High School hosts Honey Cardston and Ted Mayhem plus stars like the Lemon sisters Ding Dim and Mrs. Muller. Mayor Dellno and Rev. Frank Hensley a Choteau High School senior described the Apollo 12 launch as impressive and noted a lightning strike hitting the pad during liftoff. Hensley attended NASA sponsored Youth Science Congress in Pasadena and observed the Cape Kennedy event after research on brain protein and genetics for the American Cancer Society.

Seniors Present Annual Drama at Chateau High

The Chateau High School senior class will stage The Whole Truth by William D. Fisher tomorrow at 8 p.m. in the school auditorium. Local Girls Shine In Make It Yourself With Wool Contest

In Great Falls last Saturday, Jane Wisse Chateau and Nancy Maurer Power earned prizes in the Make It Yourself With Wool contest. Maurer won the junior division for ages 14 to 16 with a red wool semi fitted coat showing black leather buttons. She advances to the state contest in Billings on December 9 and 10 alongside senior division winner Sidonie Weingart Winnett. Wisse also placed in the junior division.
