Bulldogs Close Very Successful Football Season
The 1930 Teton county high school Bulldogs finished with six wins in ten games, scoring 194 points to opponents 113. Heavy snowfall caused two cancellations, ending a season marked by tough games against Great Falls, Fergus County, and others. Eight players graduate, with several others promising for 1931, and five 1931 games, including a Sept 19 rematch with Great Falls, are already scheduled.

Old Timer Theo Baart Dies at Columbus Hospital
Theodore Baart aged about 85 died late Sunday afternoon at Columbus hospital in Great Falls after a period of poor health. A native of Michigan he homesteaded on Willow creek near Chateau in Montana and worked as a blacksmith in Seattle before returning to Chateau. Survived by brother J A Baart of town and sister Mrs Henry Radcliffe of Fairfield, funeral held at the Catholic church in Choteau.

Lions Plan for Thanksgiving Dinner Meeting

Northern Montana division unveils new steel cars service
Milwaukee railroad agent George Tennant reports from Great Falls that starting November 15 the Northern Montana division began improved service. New equipment includes steel mail and baggage cars and steel coaches. Milwaukee No. 116 connects with the Olympian at Harlowton.

Parents Honored by DeMolay at Sunday Service
The Teton Chapter Order DeMolay held a public service at the Masonic temple with K. E. Sturgis delivering the principal address on parents. Roses were presented to all mothers by Master Councilor Gordon Holmes as part of a program including songs and poems.

Ole Wagnild respected Burton bench farmer and former head of the Farmers' Cooperative Canal Co. dies at 1 30 pm at his daughter Mrs Gordon Monkman’s home in Bynum after years of illness. Born February 13 1851 in Soknedalen Norway he helped lay the Northern Pacific track into Bozeman and Livingston then settled near Farmington and later moved to a ranch by Bynum. He influenced the Harvey Lake reservoir project and served in local public affairs including school interests and the Sons of Norway lodge. He is survived by relatives in Norway and a sister and several nieces and nephews.

Five Day Open Season on Huns Starts Sunday
A five day hunt for Hungarian partridges or Huns runs Sunday through Thursday, November 27, in Teton county and surrounding areas. Hunters may kill birds of either sex with a daily limit of three and a possession limit of six. No open season for Chinese pheasants in Teton county. State fish and game commission ordered the Hun season in September.

Russell Olson dies from accidental gunshot wound near Dutton
Russell Olson aged 18 son of Cornelius Olson of Dutton was mortally wounded Saturday at the Kerr ranch 12 miles east of Dutton. The shooting occurred during a plan to shoot a steer. Olson died three hours later as snowbound roads delayed medical help. The coroner ruled the death accidental and Kerr, a longtime rancher and county official, gave a full statement. The funeral was held at the Lutheran church in Dutton with Rev. Lunde officiating.

Mary A Read Pioneer of Teton County Dies in Great Falls
Mrs. Mary A Read aged 72 a pioneer of Teton County died Monday evening in Great Falls at her son Harvey M Reads home. She was born Mary A Green January 24 1858 in Janesville Wisconsin married Stephen G Read in 1875 and came to Montana in 1886 settling at Boulder then Steele and later Choteau. Funeral is today at 2 from the Methodist church with interment in the local family plot.
