Ella Thompson Edna Bingham and Adeline Lehnerz from Teton county are selected as Montana delegates to the 4-H club congress in Chicago. They will travel with a 50 member Montana party leaving Great Falls Nov 28 aboard Milwaukee No 116 and No 16 at Harlowton. C E Potter and Myrtle G Buren lead the group with no adult chaperone.

Henry Tennant Jr Pneumonia Victim at Coutts Alberta
George Tennant of this city was called to Coutts Alta last Thursday for the death of his brother Henry Tennant Jr who died the previous Wednesday from pneumonia. He was 54, a police magistrate for the Coutts district and a former Alberta Conservative candidate in 1913. He leaves a wife five children and three brothers plus two sisters. Funeral attended by notable officials and border police in uniform.

Annie Peebles Pioneer of Teton Passes Away at 77
Mrs Annie Peebles widow of James Peebles Sr a longtime Teton county settler died Sunday at about 7 30 a m in Chateau. Born August 15 1853 near Sault Ontario she became a naturalized American citizen and lived at the Peebles ranch on the Teton river with her son James and family. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist church with Rev Kaemmer in charge and interment followed in Chateau cemetery beside her husband. She leaves two children five grandchildren and several siblings.

Fred True Dies in Maynard Hospital from Pneumonia
Fred True a 40 year old Teton county stockman died Sunday night at Maynard hospital from pneumonia contracted the prior Wednesday. He lived about 20 miles west of Chateau, had homesteaded in 1915, later bought the Frank Cady place, owned 200 head of cattle, and leaves his father mother and a brother in Halsey Oregon.

Choteau Women Hear Interesting War Speakers Tuesday
Choteau's Woman’s Club heard vivid Armistice Day memories from Mrs. Charles August of Augusta a Salvation Army captain who served 22 months overseas including 11 at the front. She shared relics a doughnut story and recalled mother home and heaven guiding soldiers. Gold star mother Mrs Brusgard also spoke of her trip to her son’s grave in France and praised U S and French war service. Plans for next week book week and library book purchases were set during the meeting hosted by Mrs H W Bateman with Miss Ruby A Miller chairing.

Mrs. Harrison Craig Interred Saturday in Forest Vale Cemetery
Funeral services were held Saturday at the local Methodist church for Mrs. Harrison Craig who died Wednesday. She was interred at Forest Vale Cemetery in Helena after a brief graveside service. The ceremony featured readings from Psalms 13 and 90 and songs by Marguerite Vaughn, W. G. Bloomdahl, and Rev. Kaemmer.

The American Legion posts of District No 8 Montana gathered at Chateau for a two session meeting with a noon courthouse opening. State Adjutant Herbert Kibler urged veteran employment and praised auxiliary members while discussions on adjusted compensation and insurance delays highlighted the session. Adjournment led to a banquet at the Masonic temple with entertainment by local performers and a Montana lyric singalong.

Turkeys Shipped From Chateau and Dutton Reach Chinook
A small shipment of turkeys moved Monday by express to Chinook, then onward as a Northwest Turkey Growers' association freight. From Choteau 13 boxes with 141 birds weighing 1828 pounds and from Dutton three boxes with 33 birds weighing 452 pounds. Dutton birds graded U S choice. Choteau birds graded prime, choice, medium and common. Shippers include Mrs Wiggens and others from Chateau and Mrs Dave Laubach and Jens Holt from Dutton. Payment to shippers will occur after full shipment totals are received.
