A sizable crowd attended a Bicentennial Veterans Day program at Chateau High School auditorium honoring Teton County veterans who died in World War II Korea and Vietnam. David Shannon presented a plaque to Roy Goodell for placement in the county courthouse. Shannon called Veterans Day 1976 a pivotal date in American military history.

Immerman Sentenced for Drug Charge in District Court
Mike Immerman, 23, of Chateau, drew a five year term for felony sale of dangerous drugs with four years suspended by Judge R D McPhillips. Deputy Sheriff Ray Price sent him to Deer Lodge State Prison on November 6. Gale Wall, 18, Browning, got a three year deferred sentence for theft. Joshua Waddington, Browning, awaiting sentence for the same theft of $156 from Chateau Steak House on Sept 7. A Dec 1 trial is scheduled.

Chateau Chamber Discusses Winter Carnival and Bus Service
The Chateau Chamber of Commerce met Tuesday to address Glacier Transportation bus service plans between Great Falls and East Glacier and a potential winter carnival. The group talked of a private operator leasing the line with towns along the route asked to subsidize, but funds are unavailable. A winter fair at Choteau with events at Teton Pass Recreation Area was also proposed, needing broad civic cooperation.
