Thieves struck Choteau high school and hospital for cash and drugs, with $128 taken from the high school safe and $70 from the hospital safe. Augusta and Choteau safes were pried open, altered combinations used, and other funds left untouched.

Twenty Teton county youths received notices to report for physical examinations at Butte next Monday before potential induction. Clerk Virginia Sabo said those passing the tests would be subject to call within 90 days for 21 months in the army. Ten Women Complete Red Cross Home Nursing Course
Ten women finished the Red Cross home nursing course "Home Care of the Sick" led by Mrs. L. K Granger of Chateau. The 12 hour program met in the Legion pavilion kitchen, two evenings a week for three weeks, with completion certificates issued to MesDames Hazel Henne ford, Helen Dellwo, Marjorie Saytor, O Ne Dulls, Dorothy Armstrong, Jean Reyer, Lola Zion, May Richtn Adelire Obernolte and Elizabeth Banks. Prospective enrollees for a second course and Unit 11 "Baby Care" are urged to contact Mrs Nick Paulus, recruitment chairman. Courses to begin after the first year is announced.

George A Stott Dies at Son’s Home in Bynum Area
George A Stott 82 died Thursday at his son G O Stott’s home 44 miles northeast of Bynum after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements are set for Monday at Croxford’s in Great Falls with burial in Utah. Stott, born in Millard County Utah, moved with his family to Bynum 20 years ago and owned several ranches. Survived by three sons, two brothers, 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. wife Alice died February 13, 1941.

Colorful Party Held to Dedicate Legion Building
C James Smith Post No 6 of the American Legion formally dedicated the Legion building on Armistice Day. The event opened with a reading by Mrs Olga Monkman, followed by a turkey dinner for 210 attendees. Fred Meadows welcomed guests, Ruth Leisenfeld spoke for District 8 Auxiliary, and Mrs Sarah Kropp reviewed the building’s history. Howard King of Great Falls addressed the Miami Legion convention, and George A Carroll of Helena led the dedication process. Meadows then burned the mortgage as a symbolic close to the clubrooms’ early days, ending with a dance in the upstairs hall.

John Rowland Buried Today In Bynum Rites
Lieutenant John A. Rowland of Bynum was laid to rest with full military honors at Bynum cemetery after dying March 28, 1944 in France. The funeral included color bearers, a color guard, and firing squad from local veterans groups. Rowland, a bombardier in the US Army Air Corps, was shot down on a bombing mission and returned from overseas under the World War II repatriation program. He enlisted December 6, 1942, trained in Santa Anna New Mexico Alberquerque Washington towns, left for overseas January 1, 1943, and was born June 22, 1916, in Bynum. He was a Teton County High School graduate, helped on the family farm, and was never married. Pallbearers included Ted Bingham, Dave Larson, Len Rice, Irvin Moon, George Kochman, and Pat Granger.

Arensmeyer Service Held Here Monday
Funeral services for William Arensmeyer 84 were held Monday at Trinity Lutheran church with Rev. A B Gravdal officiating. Burial followed at Farmington cemetery. Arensmeyer, born February 4 1864 in Bremen Germany, immigrated to America in 1884 and settled near Farmington, Montana. He married Margaret Voegel Beatric and is survived by eight sons and daughters, 24 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. His family lists the names Ernest Adolph Jean Minnie Beatrice William Henry Troy Theodore Martha Lucille Otto and others. He was a prominent farmer in the area and died November 11.
