Funeral service for Peter Adolph Pete Otness 70 a well known farmer of the Choteau Farmington area was held yesterday afternoon at the Choteau Trinity Lutheran church The Rev A Bernard Gravdal officiated Otness died at 730 pm last Saturday in Great Falls after six weeks illness An old time pioneer he came to Teton county in 1889 born March 13 1880 at Renville Minnesota son of Lars and Marit Otness He married Lillian Anderson March 9 1909 at Great Falls survivors include wife one son Leslie Otness Chateau and three daughters Margaret Scott Great Falls Cora M Christman Dutton Edna M Peterson Fairbanks Alaska four grandchildren and four siblings Luis Otness Minneapolis Mrs Clara Hanson Strassburg Sask Canada Arron Otness Portland Ore Pallbearers were Adolph Arensmeyer Ernest Carlson Robert Thorn Ray Davidson Bob Miller and Glen Inbody Burial was at the Choteau cemetery.

18 Day Duck Season Opens Tomorrow
The second period of the duck season starts tomorrow at noon and runs 18 days to December 4. Shooting hours range from 30 minutes before sunrise to one hour before sunset, with bag limits of five ducks and five geese under specified species rules. Opening day possession is five ducks, then ten ducks on later days, with detailed limits for wood ducks and geese.
