Water Main Repaired On Second Avenue Southwest
Repairs progressed this week on a city water main from Division to First Street Southwest. Forty feet of old six inch pipe were removed and replaced after months of trouble and multiple patches. A section revealed five or six holes in six feet, with rust from the inside despite tar coated outer protection. City officials fear wider mains may also be deteriorating as some leaks are hidden by loose gravel.
