Farmington Man Iver Nassett Dies in Great Falls

Iver Nassett longtime Farmington resident died Tuesday in Great Falls Hospital after several weeks of illness. A respected rancher and county figure married with two daughters Leila and Agnes at Chateau, he is survived by his wife, daughters, and brother Lars Nassett, a Burton bench farmer.

Young Teddy Roosevelt Defeated by Al Smith in New York

Colonel Theodore Roosevelt known as the Young Teddy lost the New York gubernatorial race to Democrat Al Smith by an estimated 50 000 to 60 000 votes Coolidge and Dawes won the state with a wide margin. Greene 18th district judge re elected with broad county support

In Teton and Pondera counties Greene wins re election for the 18th judicial district on the Democratic ticket garnering a strong majority. Glacier county reports Greene ahead 84 to Sulgrove 264. Stevens Independent receives 121. Pondera County backs Gilboe Republican for state senate and Ak Democrat for the lower house.

Pioneer John Hawley Dies At 81 In Choteau

Time resident John Hawley aged 81 died Monday night at Choteau hospital after a long illness begun by a paralysis stroke. Born in England he lived in Nova Scotia and Alberta before moving to Montana in 1895. Survived by daughter Maud Bellingham of Cascade and sons Ted Hawley of Cody and Frank Hawley stationed with the U. S. Army. Burial planned in Choteau cemetery with funeral arrangements pending Ted Hawley’s arrival from Cody.

First Community Spook Party a Big Success in Choteau

The First Community Spook Party in Choteau drew broad support from parents teachers and residents. A parade in costumes opened events followed by a large bonfire at the Citizens Bank corner, a high school dance feed, and grade school games. Officials praised the safe celebration and said Halloween passed without mishap or property damage.
