Funeral services were held for Margaret Leithead 79 at the Chateau Methodist church with Rev Engdahl and the Eastern Star assisting. She born April 7 1873 in Toledo Iowa moved to South Dakota then Collins and later Great Falls and Chateau. Survivors include husband two sons and two daughters and many grandchildren and a sister and brother. Dominic J Reed urged the Chateau high school seniors to continue learning at the 1952 commencement with 26 seniors honored.

Al Mowbray Dies After Boat Upset in Lake Francis
Al Mowbray 67 of Great Falls died after a fishing boat overturned on Lake Francis near Walier. He and his son Stanley were rescued by Canadian fishermen but he died of a heart attack about 1% hours later. He was a prior Brady postmaster and long tied to Great Falls. Survivors include 11 children and two sisters with services held at Croxford's mortuary.

Columbia pictures outdoor drama of the outlaw era during the goldrush days in Montana will play at the Roxy theater in Chateau on June 15 and 16. George Eichhorn says the film has its world premiere at Great Falls on June 3 and depicts vigilante history in Montana before statehood in Technicolor.

The Montana Power Company sent a final 1951 property tax check of 42 750.63 to Teton county treasurer R. E. Crangle. Forty payments to counties nationwide totaled 1 104 137, bringing the companys 1951 property tax to 3 227 865 as part of over eight million dollars owed to federal state and local governments for the year.

Funeral Service Set for Xavier F. Hoeschen
Xavier F. Hoeschen 80 a retired Pendroy farmer and stockman will be buried at Choteau Cemetery after a 9 a.m. service Friday at St. Josephs church. A Rosary is planned tonight at 7 30 p.m. Hoeschen died Monday in Tacoma Wash where he wintered with his daughter Mrs A E Egger. He was born in Germany 1872 and came to Montana in 1916 becoming a pioneer farmer on Porter Bench east of Pendroy. Survivors include two sons Max Chateau Arnold J Pendroy a daughter Mrs A E Egger Tacoma two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Yule Receives Council Permit for Wagon Wheel Location
At a special council meeting A M Red Yule was granted a temporary location permit to house the Wagon Wheel bar in a frame building on east side of blocks 12 13 14 in block 5. He bought the residence from J H Collins near the oiling route along 7th Avenue West to Crescent Motel. The city plans planting about three dozen flowering pots at Choteau cemetery purchased from the Choteau Greenhouse.

Floats to Compete for Large Cash Prizes
Organizations and individuals are urged to enter floats in the fourth parade at Chateau. Prizes total 400 dollars across four divisions including commercial non commercial novelty and children. City Fire Siren Sets New Irrigation Hours Schedule
Starting Saturday May 31 the city fire siren will sound briefly at 10 a.m. each morning to mark the end of daily irrigation hours. Water users in Chateau are told they may irrigate from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 5 p.m. The siren also signals the closing of evening water hours.

Feed Company Expands Plant at Great Northern Depot
The Feed Company adds a new 24 by 4 foot display and office area and a 24 by 62 foot storage room with feed grinding and seed cleaning equipment. Front of the building uses pumice stone blocks, rear is frame and sheet metal. Gas and water lines are laid, a new truck scale to be installed. Manager Bob Clark says the front will stock poultry needs, tools, sprayers, and baby chick orders expected next year.

Forgery Charge Linked to Man Posing as Oil Operator
Undersheriff Joe Mozer reports George Corson was arrested in Crookston Minnesota after posing as an oil operator. He faces forgery charges in Great Falls for stealing Bernice Diane Erwin’s car from Chateau and abandoning it at White Sulphur Springs. Corson is accused of stealing another car at White Sulphur Springs and issuing several worthless checks.

Nurses from Choteau Graduate at Great Falls
Shirley Anne Stillman daughter of Mrs A O Keefe Collins and Leona Mae O Keefe granddaughter of Hugh Robinson Choteau Montana graduated with three year nursing training at Columbus School of Nursing Great Falls. Both will take state board exams in October and expect to be registered nurses. They completed Tuberculosis and mental deficiency patient training at Galen and Warm Springs institutions before the Columbus exercises.

Workers Wanted For July Rodeo Grounds Help
Choteau Chamber of Commerce committees met to plan the Fourth of July celebration. Volunteers will be needed after June 1 for carpentry and other tasks at the Chateau rodeo grounds. Laborers were told the work is easy and enjoyable, without pay, with additional seating to be built for the rodeo.

Memorial Day Services Planned at Choteau Cemetery
Memorial day services are planned for Friday at Choteau cemetery weather permitting. If bad weather, the ceremony moves to Choteau high school auditorium. All veterans should assemble at Legion hall Friday 10 am in uniform if possible. A parade around 11 am precedes the cemetery program featuring Major Randall Miller, Great Falls East air base chaplain, with the Chateau German band performing.

McClues Buy Local Bakery From Father
Jerry and Barney McClue have purchased the Choteau Bakery from their father Ray I McClue. Jerry previously owned the Valier bakery for five years. Barney trained at Choteau and both brothers will hold a public open house later. They plan remodel and equipment upgrades to boost production.

Iris Sale and Tea Set Planned by Fairfield Clubs
The Senior and Junior Woman's clubs of Fairfield plan an iris sale and tea to raise funds for the Fairfield public library. The event will occur around the iris blooming season, early June, with blooms displayed and roots dug for August delivery. Catalogues will list prices and descriptions for buyers. Proceeds support the library.
