The American Legion in Legion hall discussed a tentative Fourth of July rodeo at Chateau pending securing corral and facilities. Augus ta residents Oral Zumwalt Joe Overman and Julius Peters will help plan with the legion sports committee. The group also honored high school chess winners Kenneth Bandow and runners up Donald Ferris Dick Bandow Wesley Beck and William Perry. The chess season wrapup credited Joseph Running for forming the club and presenting ribbons. Three Rivers district No. 8 of the American Legion meets in Dutton on Saturday with events at 2 PM in the Legion hall and 7 PM banquet at the Catholic church parlors. Auxiliary activities, a public dance, and attendance by WWI and WWII veterans are planned, with posts from Great Falls, Dutton, Belt, Fort Benton, Chateau, Power, Augusta, and Geraldine represented.

Teton county stockmen are invited to a Livestock Field Day at the Havre branch of Le Montana Experiment Station on May 15. Attendees should meet at Chateau Courthouse at 6 AM or travel directly to Havre, with sessions starting at 10:80 AM.
