Survey of the Blackfeet Reservation Work Planned
Commissioner Ballinger announced that the geological survey will begin this summer to prepare for opening the Blackfeet Indian reservation in northwestern Montana. Kyle Jones won first place in a high school declamatory contest held last Friday to select a representative for the inter scholastic meet in Missoula. Kerr and Hanson arrived on the Beach last Thursday with their steam breaking outfit and are turning sod at Christ Lindseth's ranch. An employment agency has been established at Farmington to furnish men for all kinds of work. Palmer Pederson and Miss Carey visited friends in Chateau last Saturday. Obert Pederson visited Bynum and reports the town is booming. Arthur Davidson rode a bad horse toward Farmington's employment office. A crowd of young people spent Saturday evening at Oluf Lindseth's for an enjoyable time. Halvord Jonson, Avery fireman, visited Barmington Saturday. Iser Johnson's family left for Standwood Washington to take land purchased last spring. P. L. Brunson reports rushing business at the Farmington jewelry store. Frank Pierce, Dan Lindseth's jockey, gearing up race horses for July 4. An entertainment at the Surten school house Friday May 17 followed by ice cream and cake for those with quarter-two bits. Burton school closes May 17 after a nine month term with 5 enrolled and average attendance of 10. County superintendent Nellie Ft. Brown visited Burton and Farmington schools yesterday.

Wine Room Law Enforcement Urged by Montana Official
Montana law requires saloons to keep wine rooms open to public view with no curtains or screens and a three by six foot opening. Sheriff and county officials are instructed to inspect all local saloons within 60 days of April 15 1907 and report any violations to the county attorney.
