Members of Cheteat Post 12 American Legion meet Monday evening the 12th at 8 o'clock. Officers for the ensuing year will be chosen and a brief meeting will follow, with plans for 61 motion sessions.
Powell leased a building in Girard Park and opens an art shop with Powell paintings and services for sale. Walker will manage the gallery and include donated works by Indien and other artists, plus Joan’s pieces.
The U S Forest Service announces new fire protection works on the Teton Ranger District this year. Walter Everin is the newly appointed game warden for this territory and arrived in Chateau on Friday. He will set his home at Rice Au'o Court and begins his duties under the state game commission. Everin has overseen the Flathead region for the last eight to ten years and will finish the school year teaching at Colmia Wells before joining Lim at year’s end.
A decision by the supreme court last Thursday favored William P. Reickhoff as plaintiff in a fictitious land case. Justice Lierris penned the opinion, with Judge R. M. Wattersley presiding in district court. Attorney T. B. I. Packer argued for the defendant before the court.
Thirty eight students will receive diplomas at the Teton County High School commencement on Monday May 19 at the high school auditorium. Baccalaureate exercises are Sunday May 18 with Ralph Arnold former supreme court justice delivering the commencement address. Rev. R. F. Vick speaks at Baccalaureate. Valedictorian is Henry Erickson. Salutatorian tie between Robert McDonald and Maxine Swain, with McDonald giving the address. List of graduates includes senior boys and girls. program highlights include processional, vocal solos, scripture, and Benediction.
The Farmington Lutheran church is being moved to Choteau and will be set on a new basement foundation across from the tennis courts. The move faced strong winds early in the week but progress continued with George Richem and John Lindseth overseeing, assisted by labor. Rev. A. B. Helland, newly arrived Lutheran pastor in Fairfield, will also serve here.
The county agent offers one carload bran and one carload sawdust at Choteau and at Duluth for the planned grasscane insect infestation campaign. Farmers encouraged to report sightings to the county office promptly.
