Three Injured When Studebaker Leaves Road Near Bole
Mr and Mrs Jos Magee and Mrs M E Wetzel of Glacier Montana were injured Monday evening near Bole when a Studebaker sedan owned by the Magees and driven by Mrs Wetzel left the road and piled in a ditch. The steering gear failed due to a broken knuckle and the driver had the steering wheel in hand after the car stopped on its side. All were able to leave Chateau by train Tuesday for their home.

Mayor and council take office in new city administration

Mrs. R. B. Earle, 40, longtime Choteau resident, died Sunday at her Arlington California home after years with asthma. Survived by husband and son Atwood, eight, plus brothers and sisters in Montana Washington and Arkansas. Funeral held in Riverside California with burial there.

Teton County First to Qualify in Gas Tax Initiative
Teton county became the first Montana county to certify adequate petitions for the gas tax measure to voters this fall. Addison K. Lusk of the Montana Automobile Association confirmed 275 signatures and thanked J C Morgan for circulating the petitions. He noted other counties report good progress with at least 30 securing sufficient signatures.

Forest Fire Danger Rises in Glacier Park
Weather experts warn rapidly developing forest fire danger in Glacier and Lewis and Clark forests after March and April rainfall fell short. Temperatures near 80 and humidity around 18 to 24 percent have left fuels highly inflammable, with 23 fires reported by April 20 and more since. Three Escape Injury In Auto Spill On Highway
R M Trescott of Conrad and B G Trescott publisher of the Teton Independent and Ewing Steele of Choteau escaped injury when their car left the grade near Richards ranch south of Choteau Sunday. The accident occurred as front wheels hit loose gravel while attempting a turnout causing the vehicle to overturn into a ditch. Occupants received a shake up and minor bruises. the car had only a broken top.
