Homemaking classes at Chateau High School present a style show Thursday May 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Forty spring skirts and blouses will be modeled by the makers and several dresses will be shown. Music and entertainment come from fellow students, followed by punch and cookies served by FHA girls in the homemaking rooms.
Charles William Maphies 69 of Augusta died. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Augusta Community Church with Rev. A Bernard Grandal officiating. Born 1892 in Jerico Springs Missouri he married Hattie Mae Winchell in 1913 and moved to Augusta in 1936. He worked 17 years for the Great Northern Railway at Simms. Survived by five sons three daughters a sister a brother and 13 grandchildren.
National Music Week spans May 7 to 14 in its 38th year under the National Federation of Music Clubs. Schools churches libraries service clubs and media groups across Montana are invited to participate. Local organizers include state chairman Mrs. Robert A. Wearne Kalispell and co chairwomen Mrs. Bord Jensen and Mrs. Lyle Otness.
