The Milwaukee Road seeks to cut daily service to Choteau Agawam and Fairfield from six to three days a week. Horace F. Casey said the commission will announce the decision after the hearing at Chateau and publish a copy of the ruling. The commission will approve or disapprove the application.

Former Artist Here Paints for Movies in Hollywood
Joe DeYong, a deaf cowboy artist from Choteau, Montana, now paints western scenes for motion pictures in Hollywood and covers for magazines. He studied under Charlie Russell, aided by typhoid fever, and credits Bud Guthrie’s books. Standish of Vancouver plans to hear from Choteau friends at P O Box 2894 Hollywood 28 California. He previously rode with the Tom Mix rodeo show in Arizona and was Russell’s sole protégé.

Bynum Headgate Damaged by Ice Break at Reservoir
The ice breakup at Bynum reservoir left the main outlet headgate tower seriously damaged and leaning about 16 degrees toward the lake. A water leak occurred below the water line before discovery. Engineer Fifield, who oversaw the original construction, directs repairs to prevent storage loss. a new tower is planned for this summer by the irrigation district.

George Mackie Dies in Alberta After Early Choteau Era
George Mackie an early Cho teau resident who arrived with Mr and Mrs William Chalmers in 1893 and started a sheep business in Old Joe's coulee died in Bassano Alberta Canada on April 14 He sold his Choteau homestead in 1903 and moved to Canada which marked the end of a fifty year local association.
