Farmers urged to file 1939 AAA program intentions

W H Wellenstein of the Teton County agricultural conservation committee says farmers and stockmen must file intentions for the 1939 Agricultural Conservation Program by June 1. The farm plan and range sheets confirm intent but do not bind the operator, and lack of filing excludes eligibility for payments and loans. More than 1400 Teton County farms and over 44,100 Montana farms are expected to be covered. Idle farms lose most 1939 payments unless restoring land or using soil-building practices.
