The North Central Montana council of the Boy Scouts of America held its annual gathering in Great Falls with a 4:30 business meeting and a 6:30 banquet at the Hotel Rainbow. Edward L. Curtis gave the main address, and Edgar G. Maclay was re-elected council president as membership rose from 900 to over 1400.

The Arcade beer emporium run by W. E. Howard lost its beer license for 30 days after a Helena state board order. The action followed a complaint by city marshal Giles E. Trescott and an affidavit alleging whiskey consumption and gambling on the premises. Sheriff’s office aided enforcement. no court action was taken. Mayor C. W. Burns pledged strict compliance with liquor and gambling laws.

R I Mc Clue buys the west Main avenue building from C S McDonald, previously occupied by George Jackson as a barber shop for about three years. Miss Lucille Morgan former Cho teau girl and Virgil Green of Glasgow were married Monday in Great Falls. The bride daughter of Mr and Mrs J C Morgan long prominent Choteau residents now in Missoula. She is a 1927 Teton county high school graduate and has worked as a bookkeeper for Sherburn Mercantile Browning and for the Chevrolet Sales agency at Glasgow.

Teton county begins issuing the new automobile licenses at the county treasurer's office. Applicants must provide name address occupation age sex weight height eye color hair color race and car details. Blue general licenses cost 50 cents. yellow repeater licenses cost 25 cents and apply to specific cars only when paired with a blue license. Anyone mailing applications must include required information and a self addressed stamped envelope or risk denial.

Jackson Lemmon Dies in Bynum Heart Ailment
Jackson Lemmon of Bynum died Sunday evening at the Chateau hospital from heart disease. A Nebraska native, he lived in Teton county 19 years and owned a Blackleaf district homestead. Survived by Harriet Louis Lemmon, a son Ross, two daughters Delie and Leona Shelmerdine, and brothers Peter of Bynum and Roy of Spokane. Funeral services were held at the Latter Day Saints church in Bynum.

City cleanup under street committee in progress
The annual municipal cleanup is now underway under the direction of the street and alley committee. City trucks haul refuse to the dump with owners asked to place it accessibly. Work began yesterday and will continue for several days with the city grader leveling the dump on Saturday.
Teton Wins Third at Simms Invitational Meet
Simms hosted an invitational track meet on Tuesday with Simms first Augusta second and Teton third. Despite weather delaying the event from Saturday coaches and runners focused on conditioning for next week’s invitational on Friday May 10 at 2 o clock. Sid Yeaper was the only holdover from last year’s squad while John Owens won the 100 yard dash and Maccany captured the shot put.

Bleacher Collapse At Green Mill Walkathon Stuns Local Crowd
In Great Falls last Saturday night a bleacher collapsed during a crowd of walkers described as a torture walk at the Green Mill. Kenneth and Cecil Sturgis, and W Morgan with spouses sat in the stand. 30 plus were injured with 13 seriously. Management struggled to clear another bleacher deemed unsafe. Injured included Mrs L R Sutton and L R Sutton, once residents of Chateau.
