School Levy Explained by Board Actions and Proposals
The board approved funds for boiler pump repair and plumbing upgrades, plus equipment purchases to remove student fees for athletics. Salaries are set to rise modestly. Trustees from 8 of 11 districts endorsed the 3 percent special mill levy to run April 5, with total high school levies rising to about 17.84 mills if approved. The district seeks 6 mills for Chateau Grade School, with teacher increases and new texts funded by additional mills. A bond issue plan allocates two and a half mills for 90,000 dollars for the new building, with failure risking partial use of the old building and potential reconfiguration of classes.
