Farmers Fun Feed theme set with no speeches
The 22nd annual Farmers Fun Feed at Chateau next Thursday April 1 will feature food and fun without speeches. Tickets should be secured now with leftovers returned to the county extension office on Saturday March 27. Stunts and music come from various communities with Helen Gunderson of Power directing acrobatic numbers and Bill Haney of Great Falls as a special entertainer. An affordable dinner will be prepared and served by Miss Gloria Heisner’s home economics department at Choteau High School, with help from Miss Heiner, home economics students, and the Choteau Lions Club.

Fairfield men sentenced for flax theft from General Mills Elevator
Simpson and Hermann of Fairfield received two year terms at the state penitentiary for grand larceny after stealing flax from the General Mills Elevator in Fairfield. Convicted after selling three truck loads of flax to the Gallatin Valley Elevator in Choteau. Hermann was arrested in California.

Dr H W Bateman to Acquire Rieckhoff Ranch Near Choteau
Dr H W Bateman of Choteau will take over the 4500 acre Rieckhoff ranch four miles north of Choteau from the William Rieckhoff estate on May 1. C C Coffey, who has occupied the property for more than a decade, will auction the ranch farm implements household goods horses and other items on April 3 at the ranch. Bateman plans to stock the ranch later and will operate hay and pasture with a crew but not reside there. Clark Coffey sold the sheep band last year and has moved to hay and small farm work.
