The county offices announce a new plan for the scholarship contest under the state education department. Examinations will cover reading arithmetic language and spelling for grades three through eight in all third class districts. Preliminary contests are set for April 11 with county finals by May 10.
Rumors say Texas oil interests plan another test on the Chateau structure near Choteau this spring. The Montana Oil Journal notes a test on the northwest end of the fold and cites past wells including Eyraud No. 1 and nearby byland-area wells. An Andover Oil Company wildcat on Carlson farm SE Sd NE 5 24-4W is also planned near Farmington.
The Bureau of Reclamation in Fairfield announces plans to enlarge Pishkun Reservoir, about 20 miles southwest of Choteau, this summer. Bids cover two dikes, 22 000 yards of stripping, 12 acres of foundation plowing, and 240 000 cubic yards of material in dikes, all in one bid.
The notice states performance must start within 30 calendar days after award and the work must be completed within 190 calendar days. The document outlines contract award conditions and the timeline for execution by the bidder.
