Funeral services held for John A. Carlson
Funeral services for John A. Carlson, pioneer of the Burton bench, were held Saturday at the Methodist church. Interment followed in Chateau cemetery. Carlson, native of Sweden, died Tuesday at his Chateau home at age 75. He is survived by his widow, two sons, one daughter, and a sister in Sweden.

Big Gopher Drive To Start Monday In North Dakota
About sixty farmers gathered at Beck school house to arrange a large gopher drive spanning 90 sections from Teton ridge to the railroad tracks near Power. Two squads will start March 22 at 8 am from Baggensstoss with Captains Joe Homberg and John Toecyes leading, supported by Lieutenants and neighbors planning a parallel west-side effort. County Agent Fred Wilson notes extending the drive could cover up to 110 sections if Bole group joins.

Mrs. A. B. Guthrie Sr of this city is in critical condition at her home after a chronic illness worsened this week. She has been treated at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester and was recently returned from there with her daughter Mrs. Haugen of Missoula. Her sons A. B. Guthrie Jr of Louisville and Charles Guthrie of Frankfort arrived in Helena, met by Mrs. Haugen and Miss Alva Larson, after a long cross country trip.

Grand Larceny Charge Filed Against Two in Justice Court
Charged with grand larceny in a complaint by County Attorney E. Murphy J. J. Crawford and Albert IX Bull were arraigned Saturday before Justice of the Peace J. G. Jackson and pleaded not guilty. Bail bonds were posted and they were released pending possible district court action.

Amateur Boxing Card Set For March 27 At Local High School
George A. Carroll reports strong progress for the American Legion boxing card on Saturday night March 27. About 20 boxers aged 10 to 25, with six from Great Falls, are signed up for 30 plus rounds.
