He urges sheepmen to have workers report for lambing while noting a shortage of women housekeepers and cooks for ranches. Students seek part time cleanup and garden jobs. women for varied part time work are invited to contact the office. The service also aims to recruit skilled machinists with aircraft experience or interest in training.
Mrs Inez Eckford county superintendent says a new law approved March 1 by Gov Roy E Ayers limits who may vote in school elections set for April 1. The law requires voters be parents or guardians of children or owners of property on tax rolls, excluding many teachers and single voters. Officials must now match names to tax rolls and confirm parental or guardianship status. Copies available at the Eckford office in the courthouse.
A Rathbone Ranch inspection by George Moore Arnold Hanusa and Albert Peterson found two cow elk shot on the property last Saturday with no live elk seen and minimal fence or range damage. C R Rathbone Augusta district rancher was fined 200 for killing an elk out of season and appeals to district court are expected with possible Supreme Court review to determine owner rights on game animals feeding on his land.
