Rules and schedules for the annual Teton county school meet issued by County Supt Anna E Stafford set scholastic events for April 28 and athletic events for May 12 in Chateau. A parade led by Boy Scouts Camp Fire groups and the Boys band will form at 1 pm May 12 in the park.
Edna Wiprud of Dutton receives a one year scholarship in any unit of the Greater University of Montana for outstanding 4 H club work. Porter notes 88 scholarships in 1927 with clubs in operation across age groups and activities.
The first apportionment of auto license tax funds arrived this week. County Treasurer Otto Wagnild received a state warrant for $3,696.20 to be credited to Teton county's road fund, with the treasurer noting delays from the state department this year caused some agitation.
A state common school equalization fund distributes 6896 to three county schools. Fairfield receives 6344 due to limited real estate tax revenue from lands not yet titled. District No. 12 Bynum gets 150 and District No. 70 receives 375.

Third place in scholastic events earns six points, fourth four, and two for fifth. Athletic divisions set by age and gender: Division 1 girls under 12, Division 2 girls over 12, Division 3 boys under 12, Division 4 boys over 12, all effective Jan 1 1928. No competitor over 16 on or before Sept 1 1927 may enter.
Choteau Lions Club honored Teton County High School boys basketball team at a regular meeting. Seven players who went to the state tourney at Butte attended with Coach J Kent Midgett and school officials. Myron Carr spoke on athletics and praised the team while noting altitude and floor challenges.
The 17th annual state basketball tournament at Butte produced surprises as Butte High defeated Custer County High to win the title. Teton County High fell to Custer after a strong showing against Anaconda. Great Falls also exited, with Butte High edging Butte Central in a close championship, 23 to 16.
The past week saw four couples obtain marriage licenses at the Clerk of Court office. Notable cases include Bruce Gordon and Irene Paulhamus of Synd Coulee and John Kling with Lilian Thompson of Great Falls.
Butte edged ahead in the second period and held a late 16 14 lead as the gun sounded. Central tied early in the final period but Butte widened its advantage, benefiting from long shots while Maroon offense faltered. Only a few goals came from long-range attempts in a defensively played game.
A large audience attended a Sunday afternoon recital by Mrs. Cohoes piano pupils at the public school auditorium. The program featured numerous student solos duets and a violin solo with names of participants including Mable Caskey Marie Paldi Louise Clarkson Dorothy Holmes Isabelle Crawford Katherine Davis Joan Green Frances Terry Helen Binford Virgil Schubert Frances Brown Evelyn Clarkson and others with pieces such as The Fountain Hungarian Dance Moonlight and March Militaire.
An instrument of 105 printed pages transferring property from the old Milwaukee railroad system to the Chicago Milwaukee St Paul and Pacific Railroad Company was received by County Clerk W H Webb for recording. The fee is expected to range from 30 to 40 dollars. The deed lists three railroads with Milwaukee ties and various trust and mortgage firms as parties to the transfer.
County Agent Robert Clarkson informs the Acantha that the first in a series of band concerts will not be on Friday March 16 as announced. The Dutton performance date is postponed and no definite date is set, though a nearby schedule is expected soon.
All baseball enthusiasts are invited to gather at the Stockmen's Bank Building at 7 o'clock Wednesday evening March 21. Attendance is requested from all interested players.
Teton girls crowned champions at the fourth annual Augusta invitational. They defeated Fort Shaw 15 to 12 in a hard fought final before a crowd of about 750. Cascade and Conrad tied for third, Helena and Augusta fourth, with Everett of Helena the tournament high scorer at 49 points.
Mrs. Anna E. Stafford and Miss Walda Oberg traveled to Dutton on Wednesday to arrange final plans for the local normal training girls who will soon depart for Diamond Valley and Middleton schools to conduct practice teaching.
