Odd Fellow and Rebekah Party Draws Large Crowd
Last Thursday night the Odd Fellow and Rebekah party drew a large attendance and featured a varied program. George Gunther chaired the event with Oliver Mauseth in charge of refreshments. Notable acts included C. H. Connor, a 60 year Odd Fellow, a German band, tap dancing, cowboy songs, multiple soloists, instrumental numbers, and an Irish skit, followed by dancing and refreshments.

Chateau Band Plans Dances for Havre Trip Uniforms
The Chateau band led by Dr. C. W. Boussard prepares to attend the state music meet in Havre on May 11. Havre will cover band expenses. transport costs are local. New High Grade Coal Mine Under Development Northwest of Bynum
Mrs. Fred Johnson reports a developing coal mine near the W. D. Jones ranch, northwest of Bynum in Teton county. A tunnel 350 feet long and 150 feet deep reveals four and a half feet of high grade coal at the vein contact, with widths up to four feet. The coal burns with little clinker and may enter market soon.

DUTTON GIRL AND FAIRFIELD BOY TO REGION FLAG CONTEST
Margaret Mehl of Dutton and John Shoquist of Fairfield won the county flag contest at Dutton and will represent Teton County at the regional contest in Shelby on March 29. They defeated Dorothy Moore and Louis Tackes, with Ruth Hafto and Warren Daley winning the lower grade group. If victorious regionally, they advance to the state contest in Helena.

Montana Legislature Passes State Highway Patrol Bill
The Montana senate approved the Cotter bill by 39 to 9, sending it to Governor Cooney who signed it. The act creates a state highway patrol under the highway commission, sets patrol age 25 to 55, limits party affiliation, and funds the force via 50 cent driver licenses and fines. Patrol supervisors earn up to 2600 dollars yearly. officers may be equipped with motorcycles or cars and must refrain from labor disputes.

Shelby All Stars to Meet Chateau Racketeers Saturday
The Shelby All Stars will face the Chateau Racketeers on Saturday evening March 16 on the focal court after negotiations completed by Racketeers manager Speck Holmes. Milwaukee depot to operate Sundays for Great Falls Coach lines
Gorge Tennant announced that the Milwaukee depot in Choteau will serve Sundays as well as weekdays for the Great Falls Coach lines bus depot. He is authorized to sell tickets to points north of Choteau and south, while southbound service is handled by the American Railway Express.

Death of John J. Daley Ends Long Wisconsin to Montana Life
John J. Daley died last Thursday after a lengthy illness at his home in the Cowgill addition. Born April 1, 1855 in Green County Wisconsin, he lived in Teton and Pondora counties since 1902 and 1928 in Cowgill. His early years were spent on Wisconsin farms and he helped support his family after his father’s death. He planned to celebrate his 80th birthday on April first.
