Everett C. Leech of Bynum writes from the Philippines to his mother describing Army life after enlisting on Dec. 19 and sailing from Frisco Jan. 24. He recalls rough seas near Honolulu, heat and humidity in Missoula and Fort McDowell, bed bugs on the boat, and daily drills and training ahead. He notes local scenes such as Waikiki, pineapple fields, palm trees, and a life far from home as he awaits passes and further postings.

Still Contracting for Pea Growing Acreage

George Moore of the Associated Seed Co. Hartford announces that contracts for pea growing are not completed. He says several hundred acres remain open and urges interested farmers to contact him. He notes a Chateau pea cleaning plant will proceed sooner with greater grower representation.

Goats Planned Transfer From Teton Area North Of Livingston

An attempt to transplant eight to ten mountain goats from the Teton area to the Crazy Mountain region north of Livingston is planned for late March. The move aims to expand the goats' range, with Cooney stating the Crazy Mountain area is ideal and isolated from herd migration.

The executive committee of Teton county's Young Timers organization met at the court house in Choteau to plan the annual frolic at the Masonic hall on Saturday night April 5. Attendance requires parents to be old timers or eligible for the Old Timer's organization.
