New Service Station Rising in Chateau Area
Northwestern Refining Co of Cut Bank builds a new service station on corner lots joining Wallace Motor Co in Chateau. Wallace Motor Co will operate the station dispensing Grizzly gasoline and other Cut Bank crude products. Construction uses steel framing from Butler Manufacturing Co and concrete foundations by H B Beardsley. John Moore handles plumbing and tanks. Project aims for an April opening with lawn and shrubbery landscaping and a rear used car lot. Ralph Woods of the refining company supervised on site.

Cafe changes hands on Main Avenue and Parkway cafe restored
Marys Sandwich shop on Main Avenue changed hands this week. The venue began about a month ago when Mary Turner leased the former Parkway beer parlor and the beer parlor was moved to the old Parkway cafe site. The cafe location is leased by A J Nutter to H J Mcin tire and Jessie Cook who plan to restore the Parkway cafe name.

The state common school investment and interest fund allotted 10 577 34 to Teton County schools. On the 28th the county superintendent apportioned funds to districts based on census and a per cap of about 5 03. This twice yearly distribution arrives after tax periods. Chuck's Cafe Relocates Within Choteau Hotel Building
Chuck's cafe in Choteau moves to the former Choteau hotel dining room after March 15 to expand operations. Ole Holland leads carpentry and J L Gleason handles painting and decorating as the space becomes a modern cafe with a lunch counter and booths. The cafe will keep the same name, hours, and service, with proprietor C O Davis citing business growth. The current location lease remains with W L Hodgskiss of Belgrade. The Davises began in the cafe business in August 1936 by buying Chappie's Coffee shop.

Pioneer Lady of This Section Dies at Hot Springs
J. R. Collins traveled to Hot Springs in Sanders county upon learning of the death of his mother Mrs. L. J. Daggett. An old Teeton county resident, she lived in Blackleaf district with her first husband J. L. Collins, later ranched south of Bole. She died at 78. Funeral services were held Saturday at Plains, and Mr. Collins returned to Chefean Monday.
