Smith Hughes projects show above average in 1930s county program
M K Lather, Smith Hughes instructor, reported 32 farm projects from Teton County pupils are above average in size and quality. Each boy funds his own livestock and seed, with parents providing coop eration and guidance. Supplementary projects expand learning, while purebred stock dot the lineup including Shorthorns Herefords Duroc pigs and certified potatoes wheat and flax.

Choteau will host about 200 visiting Odd Fellows and Rebekahs for district No. 4 I O O F meetings at the Masonic temple. The day features a 1:30 2:00 pm business session with officer elections, a banquet, program and dance.

Farmers Union planning big picnic in Choceau July 1
About 30 representatives from eight Teton county locals met to plan a Farmers Educational and Cooperative Union of America picnic and celebration in Chateau on July 1 at the city park. A forenoon program will include speakers and music, followed by a picnic, then a baseball game and small sports in the afternoon. The day ends with a fence at the American Legion pavilion. Notables include A W Ricker of St Paul and possibly state Union president Kelley.

Death of Dupuyer rancher Alphonse Coty at cabin
Alphonse Coty a 67 year old rancher near Dupuyer was found dead Friday morning in his Coty ranch cabin seven miles southwest of Dupuyer. Officials ruled cerebral hemorrhage and arteriosclerosis as causes. He was a widower with a son in New York City. Burial followed in Dupuyer.

Local fans will see Sand Coulee's fast ball club next Sunday as Grassechi and Leary, recently signed with Denver, appear on the local diamond. Grassechi, formerly with the Bootleggers, starred in a 10 to 3 Sand Coulee win last Sunday with two double plays. Leary, the sensational shortstop and clean up hitter, is set for a future spring tryout.

Miraculous Escape After Alberta Car Crash
The George Tennant family of Choteau escaped with minor injuries after a Buick rollover eight miles south of McLeod Alberta while en route to Lithbridge for Aubrey Tennant’s ordination. All four occupants were thrown clear. they were treated at McLeod hospital and later returned home as repairs began on the damaged car.
