More than 150 settlers near Brady hold entries on Carey act irrigation land now in state selection No. 10 of 55 000 acres awaiting interior department decision in Washington. Funds for Montana in sundry civil bill announced

The sundry civil appropriation bill reported to Congress lists Montana allocations including 3600 for Bozeman fish culture station 25000 for Billings 40000 for Livingston 50000 for Missoula and 50000 for Glacier National Park works such as road and bridge construction and improvements. The department requested 232150 for the park.

Squaw Sues To Recover Ward’s Property In Helena

District Attorney James W. Freeman files a federal suit in Helena for Levine Chatto, an Indian woman ward of the government, to recover three frame buildings valued at 2200 believed wrongfully sold by Abner Hall and John C. Galbreath on August 1, 1911. Also, Jim Cobell received 60 days in jail and a 100 dollar fine for introducing liquor on the Blackfeet reservation.

Trout Fry Shipment Delivers Live Stock Across Streams

Through the Chateau od and Gun club, 000,000 trout fry arrived Tuesday from the state fish hatchery. The car met at Colling and the shipment was rushed to nearby streams with successful shipping and planting. deputy warden Dordington reports no dead fish in the release.

Machinery Experts To Sun River Dam

B Bond project engineer on the Sun River project stayed in town to Monday forenoon and then traveled to Sun River canyon with two Bucyrus Ohio steam shovel representatives. A large electrical plant is expected to run all construction machinery if work starts this summer. Great Northern officials will finish the Augusta line once reclamation service begins real work on the project.

New Judicial Township Created by County Board

The board of county commissioners last week established Collins township from part of Cno texanl Township. It will include Brady, Colling, Dutton and Power election precincts. T. C. Gingham of Brady and Edward J. Liptack of Collins were named justices of the peace.

Move for general clean up at Chateau business meeting

The commercial club voted to investigate sanitation and visual appeal improvements in Chateau. They would consult Dr. McGregor and possibly county commissioners to address sporadic scarlet fever and curb future epidemics, while targeting the dump piles along the slough and a proposed new dump near Jets.

Tragedy in Transit as 75 Chicks Die

An AD express shipment of 100 incubator chicks arrived in poor condition at the Chateau office. Most were dead or dying. only 25 survived after unpacking. Destination appeared to be from a pint in Missouri, implying harsh handling and overcrowded packaging.
