Announcement today states Dr Joan A March of Livingston has formed a partnership with Dr H W Bateman. The new practice is located in Choteau with hospital residency and supervision by his wife, a graduate nurse. Dr March, 41, born in Texas, trained at University of Texas Baylor, served as ship surgeon in the South Pacific 1942 44, and practiced in Livingston since 1944.

Dutton Sets Wheat Shipment Record in County Drive
Dutton hauled 447 835 bushels of wheat, likely breaking all state records for a single central shipping point. Electrician John Woodward Receives Presidential Citation
Rear Admiral L T DuBose presented the award to John Woodward for service aboard the Rasher during her war patrols off Japanese held waters. The submarine destroyed or damaged enemy shipping totaling about 30 000 tons in 43 and 44 off the China coast. Woodward, a 1941 graduate of Teton County High School, enlisted January 13 1942 in Salt Lake City. He was born in 1923 at Great Falls.

Mercantile and Socony Vacuum Tie Up In Deal
The Teton Mercantile association joins with Socony Vacuum in a corporate combination announced this week. General Mills leases the Socony plant at Chateau and the Mercantile group will use the office and tanks at the firm. The deal was finalized last week between Mr Anderson of General Mills and I G Ferguson, manager of General Mills Elevator Co. All orders from now on are to be taken via the General Mills elevator.
