The Van Teylingen architectural firm of Great Falls urged building the high school in two sections. They advised prioritizing the most obsolete parts, notably the gym and shop, and suggested placing music rooms in the first addition. The board followed the firm’s guidance, unaware of expected public controversy and without broader consultation.
A speaker argues that nine of ten architecture firms would rate gymnasium shop and music facilities as most expedient when planning two school section additions. He states officials did not precommit to gym or classrooms but followed the firms' advice with an open mind. He challenges critics to investigate his remarks for factual accuracy.
