Former Porter Bench Matron Dies in Idaho
Lulu Clark wife of Jim Clark a former Porter bench farmer died at Bonners Ferry Idaho on July 8 from heart failure. She was adopted daughter of Delbert and Mrs Carpenter homesteaders on the beach in 1909 and married in 1910. Survived by husband and nine children four at home. A berrying trip preceded her collapse and death. Katheryn Davis a nurse trainee from Great Falls arrived for a brief visit.

Twin Lakes Rodeo Draws Crowd Despite Indians Missing
The Twin Lakes rodeo and Saturday dance drew many patrons with Gale Ballard of Chateau and Ira Chipman of Browning as sponsors. Calf roping results saw Floyd Peters first and Gordon Dubray second, all Browning entrants. Bronco riding went to Wayne Davis of Oregon with Red Thelen of Miles City second and Irwin Cabell of Browning third. Red Thelen also won the wild cow race. The old man’s calf roping had entrants but ended late with no results. Municipal cash at end of fiscal year totals 11 795 07.

Fatally Injured by Falling Tree at Sawmill
Martin Jackson aged 29 employed at the Nels Stengrimson sawmill on the north fork of the Teton river died Friday afternoon from injuries after a falling tree crushed his skull. He was part of a crew unloading logs when struck. His body was shipped to Winifred for interment after service at the Roberts Furnera home and Great Falls. He leaves a young wife, a two month old baby, and parents Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Jackson of Winifred.
