Eighteen Choteau Swimmers Compete in Helena Meet
Eighteen Choteau swimmers competed in the Montana Wyoming Age Group Championship in Helena. Preliminaries and medley relays run Saturday afternoon with diving 7 to 9 p.m. Finals begin Sunday at noon and wrap by 4 p.m. Local families provide housing and run a concession. Awards include three trophies eight high point medals and ribbons to sixth place. Judges and timers are needed and calls go to Stan Rathman and Mrs. Carl Field for housing supervision.

Spring Creek Receives Fish Plant In Chateau Area
Last week 1 140 fish were planted in Spring Creek as part of a fisheries program in the Chateau area. Sections 400 feet long were shocked to test fish food and existing conditions. Dr Michael Kelly reports counts of 40 rainbow trout 20 brook and a few suckers south of the rodeo grounds while Dick Johnson aided in shocking two 400 foot sections between Voorhees and Guthrie residences. The largest fish found was an 18 inch two pound brook trout. The Teton river also received 700 fish. Barnum and Eureka were planted earlier with about 80 000 fish.

Ray Kelly, Teton county extension agent, said Choteau area received 0.71 inch of precipitation last night. The rain began about 7 p.m. and continued until shortly after 8 p.m. A second shower hit around 9:15 p.m., marking the first noticeable rain in some time.
