Dutton residents file a petition with county commissioners to incorporate as a town under section 4961 of the Montana codes. Blinding Car Lights Blamed for Local Pedestrian Accident
Louis Thompson was struck Sunday night around 10 by Miss Margaret Stephens while crossing Main Avenue near Parkway cafe corner. Glare from oncoming lights hid the pedestrian until late. Thompson suffered a leg injury and head cuts but recovered enough to move about in a few days.

Celebrated Golden Wedding of M E Luther’s Parents
Word comes that Mr and Mrs W D Luther observed their golden wedding on the 12th. The couple lived in Teton county for about 20 years and once held a homestead south of Chateau. Now residing in Van Nuys California Mr Luther Sr is 83 and Mrs Luther younger. Nine children were born, five survive with six grandchildren.

Teton County Assessor Reports 1935 Property Value Increase
County Assessor Otto Wagnild reports a total taxable property valuation gain of 386 73 over 1934 with total valuation reaching 313 382 351 and tax value at 3 842 674. The 1935 assessment books are open for inspection and hearings by the equalization board continue through August 12.

Local Bank Closure Cuts City Valuation in Choteau
The closing of the First National Bank in Choteau reduced city full value by about 60 000 and tax value by around 18 000, said County Assessor Otto Wagnild. City full valuation is 974 295 and tax value 280 116, down from 995 538 last year and 1 032 824 in 1933, with other department gains offsetting the loss.

Weather records reveal wetter June and high temps
County weather data show Chateau precipitation for last June at 1.02 inches, far from driest on record. The area hit an all time monthly high of 5.08 inches, while temperatures peaked at 95 degrees. Log Structures of Early Days in Choteau Are Torn Down
Two relics in Choteau dated from the 1880s were removed this week to improve the street scene. The Silverman & Cohen root cellar on Second Street NW behind the Stockmen’s bank and the Schuyler Carson log residence on Main Avenue South at First Street SW were razed after years of use in mercantile salt pork liquor hotel and residence roles.
