Appointment of Volunteer Fire Wardens Announced

Nearly 3 000 citizens of Montana and Idaho have been appointed volunteer wardens by state foresters to aid in preventing man caused fires. Local wardens remain the same as last year under Forest Ranger I H McLean. Wardens operate under state and federal forest fire laws with statewide authority to assist protection officers. Fire safety requires campers and smokers to obey rules as closures may be imposed if danger rises.
