Four marriage licenses issued in district court Monday
After a lull in marriage business June ended with four licenses granted by district court clerk Blanche M. Jacobson. Couples include Vernon A. Bechard and Rose Kusick of Great Falls, Everett W. Croxdale and Luella Fern Angell of Washington, Fred Hearing and Maude Warnock of Oregon, and George J. Brown and Fern Dunn of Fort Shaw. Most were married by Justice J. G. Jackson. Bechard and Kusick sought a clergyman in Dutton due to no available minister in Chateau.

Soil Chemist Collects County Soil Samples Monday and Tuesday
Ivor Nygard of the state experiment station at Bozeman spent Monday and Tuesday in Teton county gathering samples for soil analysis. He focused on areas where bone chewing has been common among sheep and cattle, covering the Bynum and Greenfield beach projects. Results of analyses will be reported this fall. He also studied chemical fertilizer effects on the Savick and Larson ranch near Bynum and chemicals for weed control.

Wool Shipments Go Out From Local Branches
Yesterday saw a large wool loading day in Chateau with freight moving to the Milwaukee depot where three cars were filled. The prior day Pendroy loaded four cars from T. O. Larson and J. E. Sullivan ranches. All wool was bought by C. S. McDonald for National Wool Marketing with Draper and Son of Boston as agents. McDonald says purchases came from 256 growers. Clips are clean though some weights run below last year, while others meet or exceed prior results.

John C Blakeslee Dies After Heart Failure at Ranch
John C Blakeslee died of heart failure last Saturday after noon at the Blakeslee ranch on the Teton about 20 miles west of Choteau. He had visited Montana with his son James R Blakeslee and had recently sought treatment in Choteau. The body was taken to the local cemetery for interment after services at the Masonic temple led by Chateau Masons. Survived by his wife three sons a daughter and several siblings.
