Lumber output hits 103 million feet in Montana mills year
The Montana Larch and Pine Manufacturers Association reports over 103,596,000 feet of lumber cut in the association mills in the year after its third annual meeting. That compares with 9,209,000 feet in 1908, while shipments reached 119,454,000 feet due to oversupply from prior year and demand from eastern Montana expansion and the Burlington railroad’s Billings to Great Falls line opening markets west of the Mississippi.
