Grazing Permits Sought for Lewis and Clark Forest
Applications for grazing permits on the Lewis and Clark national forest are due by February 1. W. E. Lockhart says large sheep and cattle permits may be fewer this year, though total livestock could rise due to other factors. Last year 18,201 sheep and 17,533 cattle were permitted. actual grazing reached 6,354 cattle and horses combined. Five livestock associations meet to plan for 1931, with levies to cover herding and salting and small financial balances reported. No action on permits until all applications arrive.
