Crow Nation seeks billions in land claims tied to 1851 treaty
The Crow tribe pursues multiple claims against the United States in the federal court of claims. They contend 1851 and 1868 treaties were misrepresented or not ratified, resulting in loss of vast lands in Montana and Wyoming. The suit seeks over 17 million dollars for Mandan-like compensation and additional sums for River Crow lands, irrigation, and damages from 1919 1920 cattle losses, mining, and the Custer battlefield parcel.
