Bond Election To Raise Funds For Chateau Grade School

The district 1 school board plans a Feb 15 special election to seek approval of an additional 4 mill levy to raise 80 000 for interior equipment and improvements to the new Chateau grade school building. Architects say 190 000 already approved may be insufficient due to higher material costs. Bids for the building are to be advertised, with 6 February bid due date. the board may meet to decide on further cuts if needed.

Court Dismisses School Bond Challenge in Chateau Case

A district court dismissed last Friday the action by 10 plaintiffs seeking an injunction against issuance of Chateau high school addition bonds. Judge R M Hattersley ruled the case unfounded, with the cost awarded to the defendants. Plaintiffs may appeal to the state supreme court within 60 days.

Grain Loan Deadline Set For Jan. 3

Teton county farmers are urged to file for price support loans on farm stored grains and seeds by January 15 to allow time for testing and paperwork. Final loan papers for 1950 crops must be completed by January 31, with warehouse stored commodities also subject to that deadline.

Women Volunteer To Clean Teton Memorial Hospital

All volunteer women of Choteau and vicinity are asked to report to Teton Memorial hospital tomorrow Friday to help in cleaning. Hundreds of helpers are needed and anyone who can assist is urged to be present. Choteau women started the cleaning project Wednesday and also worked today at the hospital.

An informative film on soil conservation was shown before the Choteau Lions club. Bill Vance explained the Teton county soil conservation district started in 1948 and its work to improve yields and reduce erosion. Gibson Monkiman discussed the Chateau grade building project. W W Scott announced Lions gum machines grossed 247.04 and net charity was 86.48. Christmas tree sale net 37. Leo Murphy urged recruiting more members for Melvin Jones prizes.

The Choteau high school senior class will hold a bake sale at the Choteau Electric store starting 10 30 am this Saturday February 13. Pies cakes cookies and candy will be on sale until sold out to raise funds for the school annual sponsors said.

The Chateau American Legion post voted to support Tigecutana draft boards and the inducement of Hutterite members for military service. Association New Owns New Building At Chateau Hospital

The Teton Memorial Hospital association took formal ownership of the 22 bed hospital at Chateau last Friday. Clarence Beaulier received a $150,777 payment from C. W. Burns and other board members as the transfer occurred. Beds are not yet installed and only minor equipment remains to be delivered. Diamond S ranch owner Pappy Smith will donate used beds.

Former Choteau Youth Injured Again in Korea

Marine Pfc. Robert A. Mozer of Shelby formerly of Choteau is wounded for the second time in Korea, listed as wounded on the November 20 casualty list. He is the son of Mrs. Grace V. Mozer and previously stayed with Mr. and Mrs. George Gunther in Chateau. Mozer left Shelby with an organized reserve unit on August 8. the unit was reassigned among Marine units in California before deployment.

Wheels Face Undefeated Augusta in Weekend Triangle Clash

The Choteau Wheels host the unbeaten Augusta Boosters tonight at the high school gym after a 7:30 start for the Cascade FPA versus Choteau FFA.
