Montana ranked second to Kansas in 1953 wheat production with 114 174 000 bushels. By Jan 15 Montana had 30 644 049 bushels under loan or purchase, about 27 percent of the state’s crop, while Kansas covered 52 percent of its 144 662 000 bushel crop. National totals reached a record 476 637 325 bushels under CCC support by mid January. Montana’s loan wheat largely sits on farms and 3 720 618 bushels were covered by purchase agreements, with North Dakota leading in that category.

Teton Breeders Consign Bulls To Falls Show
Sixteen 2 year old Hereford bulls will be consigned by 25 Montana breeders to the 32nd annual Hereford show and sale at Great Falls March 10 and 11 under the North Montana Hereford Breeders association. Judge Taylor McNiven of Livingston will oversee March 10 judging with H B Sager of Bozeman selling the animals March 11.
