The Montana Heart Association announced a state wide education plan on preventing rheumatic fever. Ernest Edward Fee 51 longtime Fairfield elevator manager and irrigated farm operator died Saturday in Great Falls hospital. Born February 25 1905 in Rolla North Dakota he moved to Cut Bank as a youth and settled in Teton county in 1941. Survived by widow Gladys son Warren Fairfield daughters Mary and Bob Wahi wife of Bob Wahi in Great Falls three sisters four grandchildren and several nieces and pets. Funeral was held at Fairfield Lutheran church with burial at Sunset Hill cemetery Fairfield.

Great Falls team No. 7 captured sweepstakes honors with 2988 pins in a bowling tournament sponsored by Great Falls Breweries. Singles winner Barney Hanley of Conrad totaled 666. Team No. 25 from Great Falls led the team event with 3038 pins. Havre No. 14 and Billings No. 9 followed, while Fort Benton No. 2 and Great Falls No. 7 placed later in the standings. Freedom Crusade Leader Named For Teton County
Appointment of Al Hensley as Teton County chairman for the 1957 Crusade for Freedom was announced by John M. Sprague Montana chairman for the 1957 Crusade. The drive has been accepted in Montana by the American Legion Auxiliary as a main project with a February county-wide drive planned. The Crusade supports Radio Free Europe and Free Press to aid captive nations behind the Iron Curtain.

Fairfield basketball team stranded by blizzard on highway
A group of 46 Fairfield residents including the Fairfield high school basketball team was forced to remain in Sunburst Saturday night as a blizzard blocked highways between Shelby and the Canadian border. Sunday afternoon they were en route home.
