County to Begin Gopher Eradication Campaign in 1918
County officials announce a March 1 1918 start for a state law backed gopher poisoning campaign. The county gopher poisoner may enter infested lands after ten days notice to exterminate pests, with costs charged against the land and collected with taxes. Poison will be mixed at Chateau Conrad and Cut Bank and sold at cost to farmers in 10 20 and 32 pound bags with distribution by local agents.

McLean dies in Riverside after three year illness
Kenneth G. McLean died at Riverside California on Monday at his mother in law Mrs Sterling McDonald home after three years poor health. He lived in Choteau for about twenty years from Canada where he was born and ran the Choteau Mercantile Co. store before retiring two years ago. He is survived by his wife four children two brothers and a sister Funeral services were held in Riverside Wednesday afternoon.
