J B Maurer was a Lowry caller Saturday. Jas Thorne of the basin completed an addition to his house. Frank Harris staying in a Chateau with his family. Jas Lhorner looking after things at the ranch. There was a dance at the Nelson home Saturday night. Ep tybody reported a good time. John Langwald went to Great Falls Monday returning Thursday. Henry Radcliffe hauling fence posts from Choteau and plans to fence his basin place when weather permits. Chas Davis came from Choteau Thursday to spend a few days at his ranch. John Shultz hauling wheat to Sunnyside this week. P H Burreson and N Wick threshed their 1909 crop last week and are hauling it to Great Falls. In the Falls Pete purchased a new wagon and had reached Manchester on the way home when he lost a wheel. Ness and Nelson hauling lumber from Sunnyside. Al Young shingling his new barn. K B Cohoe of Choteau came out to the Barris ranch Friday then returned to town Saturday. Pred Kruck to Choteau Monday. Tom Cook left for the mountains Monday.
Browning Indian Agent Churchill with Canadian officers raided Simms ranch about 12 miles east of Sweet Grass on the Canadian side. They captured Simms and another rancher, seized about 80 horses largely on the reservation, and moved prisoners to Lethbridge police barracks. Officials expect more arrests as horse thefts increase and urge cooperation from reservation residents. Abner Hall visited Kalispell on Monday.
Dupuyer E E Leech spends the first of the week for his interests at Walier. H H Brockman and family of Washington visit relatives here. Miss Jennie Ling resigns from J W Quail private school and returns to Highwood. Mrs Anova Wood on the sick list. Mrs G E Hutt and children visit Walier on Sunday. Special meetings begin Sunday and continue all next week. Everyone is invited to attend.
Mabel daughter of A B Guthrie died Monday February 7 of bronchitis at age one year eight days. A farewell poem accompanies the notice, noting she is not dead but away in an unknown land with a lingering dream of fairness.

Sjoard Jacobus Hockema a Netherlands native living at Conrad declared his intention to become a US citizen before Clerk of Court Gibson February 9 1910. Jacob Gemar a Russia native living at Farmington also declared his intention to become a citizen.
The firm begins a professional card this week after establishing local offices in the Hodgskiss block above the Citizens bank. Robert Henderson of Towner North Dakota serves as president with Henry D Robison as secretary and J T Robison in charge. They bring training in abstract and real estate work and have already secured notable early success.
A report from the Portland Oregon forest service shows national forest timber sales in Oregon and Washington rising sharply in the last half of 1909. Sales exceed 52 million feet valued near 114000 dollars, far above 1908 levels, signaling growing demand and paving the way for removing overmature timber and replanting with young growth.
