Firemen's Ball Set Friday Night in Cho teau
Fire Chief Bud Taylor reminded Teton County residents of the Annual Firemen's Ball to be held Friday Dec 31 at 9 p.m. in the Masonic hall Cho teau. Tickets are 1.50 per couple as the Choteau Volunteer Firemen sponsor live music and noisemakers. Taylor urged a large turnout and noted a holiday fire warning about drying Christmas trees and candle or heat hazards with reminders to turn off tree lights when away.

Out Draw Conrad Goal Drives Red Cross Blood Drive
The Chateau Red Cross plans a blood drawing January 5 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Methodist Church. Chairman Joyce Curtis says the goal is 65 pints and to surpass Conrad, which has the same target. Extra donors, including negatives for A B C types, are urged as surgeries create need. Rainbow Girls offer babysitting 4 to 6 p.m. and doctors Kelly and Bosshardt supervise.

Youth Dies In Hunting Accident
Funeral services for Donald E. Sink 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harland Sink Fairfield were held at the L D S Church in Fairfield. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery Fairfield followed the Dec 21 hunting incident in which a .22 rifle discharged while Sink chased a rabbit. He was born Feb 21 1950 in Havre and survived by his parents a brother Steven and a sister Karen Lee and grandmother Mrs Ethel Moore Banks Funeral Home handled arrangements.

The 1965 growing season brought a potential county record crop said Extension Agent Raymond Kelly. Despite rain delaying harvest to mid October and some crop damage, yields were better than average. A large hay crop suffered quality losses though no severe insect or hail damage occurred. Statewide, 1965 was cool and wet but crops largely rose. wheat production reached a record 102,475,000 bushels with winter wheat yield at 29 bushels per acre, and durum wheat strong at 67,541,000 bushels.

Services Set At 2 p.m. Today For Frank Zion
Funeral services for Frank A. Zion 87 will be held at 2 pm at the Methodist Church in Choteau with Rev. Robison officiating. Burial will be in Choteau Cemetery. Zion died Monday night at a Great Falls hospital after about a month’s illness. He was born June 16 1878 and homesteaded on the Teton Beach before moving to Choteau in 1924 where he rancher until retirement in 1959. He is survived by his widow Nancy sons Robert and G L and J W a daughter Mrs Richard Tacke all of Great Falls Choteau residents note Banks Funeral Home directing.

Junior Miss Named At Annual County Pageant
Eight Teton County senior girls compete for the 1966 Junior Miss title at the Choteau High School auditorium Monday night. Scholarships totaling 2250 will be awarded to the winner and two runners up from sponsors including Dutton State Bank Dirkes Chevrolet Teton Motor Co Citizens State Bank and various local businesses. The 1966 winner advances to the state pageant in Kalispell February 4 to 6 with the state winner moving on to Mobile Alabama for the national pageant.
