Wheat prices set to rise for 1973 74 season
The Agriculture Department estimates farm wheat prices will average 3.50 to 4.00 per bushel for 1973 74, roughly double last year and a record. If the full crop is marketed at that level the season average would top the 1947 48 high. Substantial uncertainty remains about how much of the record 1.7 billion bushels will be sold at peak prices and about future demand.
